Lot Cave Country is a land-based technical diving destination centered on limestone resurgences around the Cele and Ouysse systems. Gramat is the strongest base for instructors, gas fills, rental equipment, and northern sites such as Cabouy and Saint-Sauveur. Cajarc gives easier access to the Lot and lower Cele valleys, including Ressel, Marchepied, and a rich topside circuit. Water remains about 12°C to 14°C through the year, with visibility that can exceed 20 m but can also collapse after rain or at river-mixed entrances. Independent penetration is for properly trained cave divers using redundant systems and a site-specific plan. Supervised discovery is available only for suitably experienced open-water divers who meet an operator's prerequisites. Non-divers are exceptionally well served by Padirac, Pech Merle, Rocamadour, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, canoeing, walking, and guided dry caving.
