Mornington Pier

Mornington Pier is a classic Port Phillip Bay pier dive with pylons, ledges, and a shallow route that works for training and easy night dives. The pier and jetty stay interesting because the bottom changes from rocks and seagrass to silty patches, so there is always something new along the line. It is a shore entry site, but you still need to plan around wharf traffic, fishing lines, and the boats that shelter on the eastern side. Expect pufferfish, crabs, seahorses, squid, gurnards, and other life clustered around the pylons.
