Red Pillar / Peel Island Reef is a small Andaman channel dive where the current can make the route feel lively around a quirky artificial reef. A sunken scooter, bicycle, old scuba tanks, compressor frames and bottles create shelter for smaller fish, while the surrounding coral and rock keep the site from feeling like a pure novelty stop. Plan the dive around the channel push rather than expecting a mellow sightseeing stop, because conditions can change the feel quickly. Wrasse, barracuda, octopus and moray eel are the easiest headline sightings.
