Nine Pins

Nine Pins is a cluster of reefy rocks off Kaikoura that breaks the surface and creates a compact kelp-covered dive area with good fish life. Divers visit for the distinctive rock profile, productive kelp habitat, and the mix of resident reef species with the chance of larger coastal wildlife passing through the area. It is best treated as a simple local boat dive that depends on tide and launch practicality more than on inland-style shelter.
