Shaab Alaya est une plongée sur tombant qui se fait généralement le long du récif en direction nord. Un mur de pierre couvert d'abondants coraux durs et mous descend d'une eau très peu profonde jusqu'à une profondeur moyenne. La structure du tombant offre de nombreux endroits pour chercher la petite vie marine, tandis que l'eau bleue devant le récif peut permettre d'apercevoir des animaux plus grands qui passent, comme des dauphins, des requins-baleines et des tortues.
