Visão geral
The Var Coast combines one of the western Mediterranean's strongest land-based dive portfolios with a polished Riviera holiday. Cavalaire is the wreck-focused base, with Le Rubis, Le Togo, and a broad range of recreational and technical departures. Saint-Raphael and Cap Dramont add arches, pinnacles, coral-covered walls, sheltered training water, and the photogenic Ile d'Or. Around Saint-Tropez, Cap Camarat and the Three Caps mix rocky reefs, shallow coves, snorkeling, and easy non-diver days. Local centers support first dives through mixed-gas training, so trip design matters more than headline depth. Summer brings the warmest water and most reliable visitor services, while properly equipped divers can operate year-round. Wind, surface traffic, deep-wreck qualification, and protected-area rules are the main planning constraints.
Cavalaire Bay supports a concentrated portfolio of historic wrecks, including the submarine Le Rubis and deep cargo wreck Le Togo, with local centers capable of recreational and technical planning.
The same coast offers shallow arches and sheltered training water, mid-depth pinnacles and walls, plus wrecks beyond normal no-decompression limits.
Saint-Tropez beaches, the Esterel Massif, coastal trails, markets, vineyards, and boat excursions give non-divers credible full-day alternatives.
Official tourism guidance describes Var diving as year-round, although winter requires warmer exposure protection, flexible schedules, and acceptance of weather-driven cancellations.
