About Tortugas
Tortugas is a broad offshore drift reef off Playa del Carmen with rich coral structure and plenty of marine life. The site slopes across a reef platform rather than a single wall, so divers can drift through coral and sponge gardens at different levels. Current is part of the dive and the boat ride is short, so buoyancy control and guide discipline matter. Turtles, eagle rays, barracuda, and sharks are the main draw.
