A rental car is the practical default once leaving central Ajaccio. The two bases are roughly 67 km apart, and a car simplifies early dive check-ins, Campomoro, Porto Pollo, Filitosa, Sartene, and rural meals. Year-round buses connect major towns, with extra seasonal services around Valinco, but frequencies may not align with boats or oversize gear. Ajaccio's old town is walkable, and local transport can reach La Parata. Use legal parking, never leave visible gear in a vehicle, and avoid planning the intercity road immediately after a late ferry or flight if tired.
