Pulau Tenggol delivers big variety in a small area: sheltered bay dives for training, then exposed tokong pinnacles, walls, and wrecks when you want more adrenaline. Visibility can reach 20 m in the calmer season, and divers regularly report turtles, barracuda, trevallies, rays, and reef sharks. The prime window is March to October, with whale sharks most commonly reported from August to September. Dive logistics are straightforward: transfer by speedboat from Dungun Jetty, then dive with resort-based centers such as Tenggol Coral Beach Resort (PADI 5 Star IDC) or operators running trips out of Dungun.
One of Tenggol's most famous tokong sites and a late-summer hotspot where whale sharks are most often reported.
A wall and ridge site that can deliver pelagic action when current runs.
A classic point-and-current dive known for drift runs over rugged rock and coral.
Named for the dramatic drop-off around 18 m where you can hover and scan the blue.
