Lake Constance is a shore-diving and training destination with unusually varied freshwater topography. Tauchteam Bodensee describes shallow slopes, walls, wreck-like features, and cold, thermocline-driven conditions; Parkhaus Post near Uberlingen combines a beginner-friendly sandy descent with a deeper wall, while Meersburg Krebsgarten offers shallow training terrain and freshwater crayfish. Wallhausen Hochhaus and regulated Teufelstisch belong in advanced or technical plans, not casual open-water itineraries. Expect variable visibility, cold depth water, fine sediment, boat traffic, and site-specific rules.
A practical beginner and course site with shallow terrain, useful infrastructure, freshwater crayfish, and a slope that continues beyond {{ 40 | distance:m }}.
A locally known shore site whose legal access is limited to October 31 through March 15.
One of the Bodenseekreis sites listed for yearround access.
A sandy slope reaches roughly {{ 18 | distance:m }} to {{ 20 | distance:m }} before a wall section begins.
An advanced wall site where the drop begins in very shallow water and continues beyond recreational depth.
A celebrated but generally closed formation.
Checklist del operador
Book a guided orientation for the first dive and match the site to certification, recent cold-water experience, and visibility. Ask the operator about current lake level, entry condition, parking, route direction, protected zones, and storm forecast. Reserve cylinders and weights, especially for winter weekends. Carry two independent cold-water regulator systems where the site or permit requires them, display an Alpha flag, and use an altitude-capable computer or tables. Do not treat a famous wall as a standard recreational shore dive.
