Cannes, Antibes, Nice, and Villefranche-sur-Mer compress a surprising range of Mediterranean diving into day-boat distance. Plongee Club de Cannes works the Lerins and Cap d'Antibes sector, while Nice Diving and Villefranche operators reach the walls and reefs between Cap de Nice and Cap Ferrat. The draw is structure rather than tropical coral: rocky shelves, gorgonian walls, coralligenous growth, Posidonia edges, small caves, pinnacles, and selected wrecks. Shallow sites and first-dive programs coexist with exposed offshore rocks and walls that demand strong buoyancy, gas planning, and current awareness.

Checklist opérateur
Reserve directly with a center in the cluster you intend to dive. Send certification agency, highest level, logged dive count, last dive date, desired maximum depth, equipment sizes, and language needs before arrival. French centers may evaluate foreign qualifications under local operating rules rather than treating a card as an automatic depth entitlement. Ask whether a medical certificate is required for your course, federation license, or planned activity. Summer departures fill early; shoulder-season and winter diving may run only with advance booking and acceptable weather. Do not assume rental computers, integrated weights, DIN adapters, or large cylinders are included.
