Calvi Sainte-Catherine Airport is the most convenient gateway for Calvi and Galeria, but many routes are seasonal. Ajaccio is often the practical airport for Porto and Piana, while Bastia can provide more flight choices for a north-coast start. Compare the total road transfer, not only the fare.
Ferries from mainland France and Italy can be attractive for travelers bringing a car and dive gear. Ile-Rousse is the most convenient ferry port for Calvi; Ajaccio serves the western approach to Porto; Bastia works for a north-to-west road itinerary. Schedules and ports vary by season, so confirm the exact sailing before locking accommodation.
A rental car is strongly recommended. Calvi's beaches and waterfront are walkable, and the Balagne train can help between Calvi and Ile-Rousse, but it does not solve access to Galeria, Porto, Piana or early boat check-ins.
