About San Juan Reef
San Juan Reef is a north-end Cozumel reef with large finger corals, lettuce coral, sandy patches, and sponges on a gently sloping profile. It is usually a second-dive site for experienced drift divers, with ledges and overhangs that hold grunts, schoolmasters, damselfish, and strong current-powered shark and ray action when conditions are calm enough. The reef rewards good trim, tidy group control, and a watchful eye on the water movement.
