About Arena
Arena is a Garajau marine-reserve reef in Madeira shaped by stacked rock formations that create a natural amphitheatre, a short tunnel, and a vertical chimney feature. The dive feels scenic rather than technical, with sandy patches around the reef adding contrast to the volcanic structure and giving divers room to circle the formation slowly. Fish life is the main draw here. Barracudas, trumpetfish, groupers, morays, rays, and other Atlantic reef species are repeatedly mentioned around the site, with schooling fish moving above the structure while crustaceans and other smaller life hide in the rock. It is one of those Madeira dives where the terrain and the reserve-protected fish density do most of the work.
