Étang de Leucate is a shallow brackish lagoon where the dive is shaped by seagrass, soft sediment, and changing weather more than by hard reef structure. Entry is usually straightforward from the shore in the allowed sections, and calm windows can feel beginner-friendly for relaxed scuba, snorkeling, or freediving. Expect seahorses, eels, gobies, pipefish, cuttlefish, and other small lagoon life, with visibility and comfort dropping when wind or traffic stirs the water.
