About L’Eveillé
L’Eveillé is a south-side Mauritius drop-off dive near Flic en Flac, visited for its relaxed wall profile and a small arch that breaks up the reef face at diving depth. The route usually follows the slope down the drop-off before looping past the arch and back across coral-covered reef where the site is often paired with nearby shallower dives on the same boat plan. It is not an extreme current site, but the arch sits deeper than the rest of the casual reef tour, so buoyancy, gas planning and comfort around a brief overhead feature still matter.

Depth range, seasonality, and planning context.
Reported Depth
25m+
Depth Note
Small arch at about 25 m along the drop-off.
Best Season
Mauritius west-coast diving is possible much of the year, but the calmer and clearer austral winter period from roughly May to November is often the easier season for Flic en Flac boat dives.
Typical Conditions
Expect a gentle drop-off profile with moderate visibility, manageable conditions on many days and a deeper arch that adds structure to an otherwise relaxed reef route.
Safety & Access At L’Eveillé
Hazards, restrictions, and access requirements.
Key Hazards
Safety Notes
The arch is a short overhead feature rather than a penetration dive, but it still needs stable buoyancy and awareness of your depth and gas. Teams that do not want the deeper section can usually enjoy the drop-off without committing to the arch itself.
Access Restrictions
L’Eveillé is generally dived by boat from the Flic en Flac area rather than as a shore entry.
Local Intel For L’Eveillé
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba
Most dives descend the drop-off first, visit the arch if the group is comfortable with the depth, then work back over shallower reef on the return.
Freedive
Freedivers may visit the upper reef edge, but the site's main attraction is the deeper arch on a drop-off, so it is better known as a scuba profile.
