Most international visitors first arrive at Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) on the Dutch side of Sint Maarten, then use a regional flight to Saba (SAB) or a scheduled passenger ferry to Fort Bay. Winair publishes short Twin Otter connections; availability and baggage limits depend on the flight. Makana Ferry operates regional island crossings, but the exact service days and slow-season suspension notices must be checked on its live schedule. Weather and port or airport operations can disrupt either mode. Arrange on-island taxi pickup before arrival. Do not schedule a same-day international connection without a sensible buffer. The Caribbean Explorer II liveaboard is a separately sold overnight multi-island itinerary: confirm its departure port independently, and do not infer it departs from Saba.
Windwardside and The Bottom are common visitor bases, while Fort Bay serves dive boats and ferries. The island has steep, winding roads; do not assume a walkable connection between a room and the harbor.
