There is no single Ligurian Coast tourism levy or universal marine-park tag. Costs are cluster-specific. Portofino publishes private-diver authorization fees, Cinque Terre manages its own marine-activity permissions and optional visitor cards, and Bergeggi's 2026 rules channel scuba visitors through authorized guided centers while requiring prior authorization for apnea in Zones B and C. Municipal accommodation taxes may be collected separately by the hotel or rental. Always distinguish a legal-access fee from the operator's boat, guide, cylinder, and equipment price.

| Portofino MPA private nonresident dive authorization |
2026 tariff: EUR 15 daily, EUR 35 weekly, EUR 45 monthly, or EUR 120 annual Selected daily, weekly, monthly, or annual period under the current authorization process |
| Private nonresident divers using the MPA's authorized independent-diver route |
| Portofino MPA online user area or current office procedure |
The 2026 tariff schedule lists these individual nonresident rates. Zone B access also involves the MPA's personal-card and outing-notification process, certification thresholds, support-boat supervision, flag, designated-site, and group-size rules. Confirm the current workflow before paying because an authorization is not permission to ignore zoning, closures, weather, or skipper requirements. |
| Portofino authorized-center dive access | Included or itemized by the operator; no single retail rate Per booked dive or package | Most visiting scuba divers and guided freedive or snorkel participants | A dive center currently authorized by the Portofino MPA | Ask whether the quote includes marine-park access, boat, guide, cylinder, weights, and equipment. Using an authorized center is the simplest first-visit route because the center manages moorings, daily operating rules, and site substitutions. |
| Cinque Terre MPA diving authorization | Current park or operator tariff varies by activity and access method As stated on the current authorization or operator booking | Scuba access to designated underwater itineraries | Cinque Terre National Park authorization system or a center on the park's current authorized list | Zone labels on the park's itinerary directory do not create automatic independent access. Use the current authorization path for the exact route and date. Confirm whether the operator's price includes the park permission, guide, boat, and equipment. |
| Bergeggi guided scuba access | Operator-dependent Per guided dive or package | All visitor scuba dives in Zones B and C under the 2026 supplementary rules | A center on the Bergeggi MPA's current authorized list | Independent scuba is not permitted under the 2026 visitor framework. Guided visits use authorized centers and official moorings. Ordinary night diving is prohibited, apart from any specifically authorized experimental guided program. |
| Bergeggi apnea authorization | Check the current MPA procedure and tariff As granted by the MPA | Freediving in Zones B and C | Bergeggi MPA or Municipality of Bergeggi current authorization channel | Prior authorization is required under the 2026 supplementary rules. Apnea remains prohibited in Zone A. A local instructor or authorized operator is the safest way to confirm boundaries, flag rules, boat traffic, and the day's permitted area. |
| Cinque Terre Card | Dynamic price by date, duration, age, and Trekking or Train product Product-specific, commonly one or more consecutive days | Visitors using covered trails, park services, local buses, attractions, and, for the Train product, included rail travel | Official Cinque Terre National Park card website, park sales points, or authorized channels | This is a land-visitor product, not a scuba permit. Check live trail status before purchasing and compare the Trekking and Train versions against the exact day's route. Proceeds support path maintenance, the terraced landscape, and park services. |
| Municipal accommodation tax | Varies by municipality, property category, season, and exemption Usually charged per person per night up to the local limit | Overnight guests unless a local exemption applies | Collected by the accommodation under the local municipality's rules | Ask the property whether the tax is included in the quoted total and whether it must be paid locally in cash or by card. Camogli, Santa Margherita Ligure, Genoa, Levanto, La Spezia, and other municipalities can use different rates and collection rules. |
