Scuba
What It Feels Like
Bora Bora scuba is about high-reward day boats rather than expedition logistics. Operators such as Bora Diving Center by Eleuthera, Diveasy, H2O Bora Bora, and resort-linked guides typically run lagoon-and-reef programs: Anau for manta rays, Tapu for sharks, Muri Muri for coral fields and drift flavor, and Aquarium-style lagoon sites for new divers. It is especially strong for couples or families where one person dives and another snorkels, because the same lagoon ecosystem supports both.
Signature Sites
Start Here
Bora Bora's signature manta site, with coral gardens from about {{ 6 | distance:m }} and reef slopes toward {{ 20 | distance:m }} where mantas, turtles, and eagle rays may appear.
A reefside shark dive near the pass area where blacktip and lemon sharks, wrasse, jacks, and turtles create the island's strongest bigfish profile.
Also known as White Valley, this site mixes sandy channels, coral formations, reef sharks, turtles, jacks, barracuda, and classic Bora Bora bluewater scenery.
Level Up
A good stepup dive for certified divers who want movement, lagoon topography, and chances for eagle rays or schooling fish without committing to a more exposed offshore site.
A calm, fishheavy lagoon site that works well for easy scuba, check dives, refreshers, and divers traveling with snorkelers.
Planning Playbook
Operator Checklist
Book morning two-tank dives early in the stay, then leave a conservative no-fly buffer before any BOB to PPT flight. Ask whether the plan pairs one lagoon dive with one reef dive, whether Nitrox is available, and whether pickup works from your resort dock. Carry your certification card, dive computer, SMB, and reef-safe sun protection. Do not feed sharks, chase rays, touch coral, or enter the Popora Rahui integral reserve.
