Limestone caverns, volcanic walls, and Lampione sharks at Europe's southern edge
Pick an activity mode to compare signature sites, skill fit, and gear planning notes before you lock your trip.
Scuba here is a boat-led exploration of three contrasting island systems. Moby Diving and Pelagos 2.0 use Lampedusa as the operational hub, combining local limestone walls and caverns with weather-dependent runs to Lampione and Linosa. The protected area supports Posidonia, coralligenous growth, grouper, moray eels, barracuda, amberjack, nudibranchs, turtles, and occasional dolphins.
The signature objective is Lampione during the July to September gray shark window, but the destination should not be reduced to one encounter. Linosa's basalt architecture and Lampedusa sites such as Punta Cappellone deliver the most dependable geological variety. Nonresidents cannot simply arrive and dive independently in Zones B and C. Use an authorized center, accept site swaps, and treat remote-island departures as bonuses within a flexible local program.
An uninhabited rock about 16 km west of Lampedusa, with walls, schooling pelagics, barracuda, amberjack, turtles, and a seasonal chance of gray sharks from July to September.
Black basalt, arches, columnar formations, and steep dropoffs distinguish Linosa from limestone Lampedusa.
A dramatic Lampedusa wall with cracks, ledges, pelagic traffic, and profiles from roughly 5 m toward 40 m.
