Overview
Malta and Gozo deliver European diving with easy logistics, dramatic shore entries, and a cluster of artificial and historic wrecks. The Cirkewwa Marine Park concentrates reefs, arches, and photogenic wrecks, while Gozo adds caverns and blue-water swim-throughs. Snorkelers love Comino’s lagoons, and non-divers have UNESCO-listed Valletta, fortified hill towns, and megalithic temples. Conditions are diveable all year, with prime visibility and warmer water in late summer and early autumn.
UNESCO Valletta, Mdina’s citadel, Bronze Age temple sites, and coastal hikes slot perfectly between dive days.

Why Malta and Gozo for Scuba Diving
Expect high‑clarity water, short approaches, and lots of structure. Shore dives at Cirkewwa hit arches and walls, with easy access to the Rozi tug and P29 patrol boat. South‑facing Wied iz‑Zurrieq hosts the photogenic Um El Faroud. On Comino, the P31 is a shore‑friendly wreck near the Crystal Lagoon. Gozo adds deeper wrecks and caverns for advanced training.

Why Malta and Gozo for Freediving
Short swims to drop‑offs, arches, and caverns make repetitive sessions simple. You can alternate between reef mooching and structure dives without a boat. Late summer to early autumn often brings the calmest surface for line training or fun dives.

Why Malta and Gozo for Snorkeling
Sheltered coves with shallow reefs and easy ladders make quick sessions simple. Comino’s lagoons offer light‑filled tunnels and sandy patches that suit all comfort levels.

What to do when you are not in the water
Pair dive days with UNESCO fortifications, megalithic temples older than the pyramids, and Gozo’s rural lanes and sea cliffs. Even short weather holds fill easily with culture and food.
