Key fee: Individual diving authorization
EUR 318.53
Confirm these fees before you book so your operator plan and day budget match what you will pay onsite.
Visitors using a registered dive center normally book organized diving and do not buy a separate individual authorization. Independent leisure diving requires the Croatian individual diving authorization, currently listed by the government at EUR 318.53 for one year, plus compliance with marking and restricted-zone rules. There is no destination-wide marine park tag for the Split, Trogir, Solta, Brac and Makarska region. Special cultural-heritage sites may require controlled access through an authorized operator. Accommodation tourist tax and Biokovo admission are separate travel costs and vary by place, age, season or ticket.

| Individual diving authorization |
EUR 318.53
One year from issue
| Divers conducting individual rather than organized leisure or sport diving |
| Any Croatian Harbourmaster's Office or branch office, including Split; arrange an appointment where advised |
The authorization does not override no-diving zones or cultural-heritage controls. The diver must use the legally required surface marker, add the required visible light for night diving and understand local navigation and emergency procedures. |
| Organized diving through a registered center | Included or arranged within the operator's published dive price For the booked organized activity | Most visiting recreational divers | Registered Croatian dive center or qualified organizer | This is the normal visitor model. Confirm what the package includes, such as boat transport, cylinders, weights, nitrox, guide, site surcharge, equipment rental and any controlled-site access. |
| Controlled cultural-heritage site access | Varies by site and authorized operator For the approved dive or permit period | Dives in designated underwater cultural-goods areas | Through an operator authorized for the specific protected site or the competent authority | General recreational access cannot be assumed. A personal diving authorization is not a substitute for site-specific cultural-heritage permission. Never remove, relocate or stage archaeological objects for photographs. |
| Accommodation tourist tax | Variable local rate Per overnight stay or as otherwise prescribed for the accommodation type | Most non-resident overnight guests, with statutory exemptions and reductions | Collected or administered by the registered accommodation provider; confirm on the booking statement | The Croatian Government confirms that tourist tax applies to qualifying stays and that exemptions or reductions exist, including age-based provisions. Rates are set through the applicable legal and local framework, so use the accommodation's current written total rather than an old destination-wide figure. |
| Biokovo Nature Park admission | Variable by ticket, visitor category and date For the selected entry or product | Visitors entering ticketed park areas or controlled-access attractions | Where to pay | Use the official park webshop and current visitor notices. Entry availability, road controls and product types can change, and a coastal weather forecast is not enough for a mountain itinerary. |
| Destination-wide marine park tag | No general tag identified Not applicable | The general Split and Central Dalmatia destination area | Not applicable | Unlike destinations with one coast-wide dive tag, this region does not use a single marine-park access fee for ordinary organized diving. This does not remove site restrictions, protected-species rules, navigation requirements or cultural-heritage controls. |
