Les Chambres: boat dive with walls, caves, and reserve life.
Les Chambres: boat dive with walls, caves, and reserve life.
Les Chambres is a boat-access dive in the Cerbère-Banyuls reserve with a broken rocky profile of walls, caves, and ledges. It rewards slow exploration of the structure and can hold groupers, morays, octopus, nudibranchs, barracuda, and other Mediterranean fish. Plan on local-operator access and a site that can feel more demanding when wind or current builds. A calm day gives the best version of it; rough weather can tighten the window quickly.

Safety Notes
Includes caves and drop-offs; plan appropriate training, gas management, and buoyancy control for overhead terrain and deeper sections.
Access Restrictions
Guided boat access and reserve rules apply; do not treat it as a casual independent shore entry.
Legal Notes
Inside the Cerbère-Banyuls reserve, so boating and underwater activity are regulated and should follow local guidance.

Scuba Diving
A 10–40 m depth range with varied terrain makes it best suited to intermediate to advanced divers.
Freediving
Secondary use only. Better treated as a calm-condition, shallow-edge breath-hold option than a primary freedive site.
Snorkeling
Not a casual shore snorkel. If used for snorkeling, it needs a guided boat outing and very calm seas.
