This site features a straight, sloping rocky ridge that overlooks a sandy patch in deep water. The ridge rises from over 35 m up to about 22 m. Its hard surface is covered with soft corals, including fan corals and whip corals. The name comes from the large numbers of surgeonfish seen here, and larger fish such as groupers and sweetlips may be found under overhangs.
