Nishiumi sits at the southwestern tip of Ehime Prefecture near the Kochi border, around the West Sea Peninsula area. The area is primarily visited for boat diving, with beach dives also available. Divers can expect encounters with a variety of reef fish including angelfish, anthias, snapper, scorpionfish, frogfish, and schooling jacks. Bullshead sharks are commonly seen in May and June.
