About Maafaru Thila
Maafaru Thila is one of Raa Atoll's signature two-thila reefs, with swim-throughs, overhangs, and a short swim between the eastern and western formations. The site feels busy with structure rather than open water, so it rewards slow, controlled diving and good buoyancy. Coral growth is strong, with soft corals, sea fans, and bigger black-coral features on the reef. In season, frogfish, hawkfish, napoleon wrasse, manta rays, and mobulas can all make an appearance.
