A local boat operator is the practical way to run the drift and manage the pickup line.

Boat-only intermediate drift with pinnacles, tunnels, and caverns; best for confident reef divers who can stay precise in current.

About Colombia Reef

Colombia Reef is the Cozumel drift for divers who want more structure than the shallow reef but less commitment than the deep wall. It mixes coral pinnacles, tunnels, caves, and caverns, so the dive changes character as you move along the reef. Plan it as a boat-only drift with tight buoyancy around the cuts, because current is often moderate to strong and the overhead bits reward discipline. Turtles, eagle rays, nurse sharks, barracuda, wrasses, and octopus are realistic.

Local Intel For Colombia Reef

Community notes to help plan your visit.

Scuba

Intermediate drift dive with pinnacles, tunnels, caves, and caverns. Stay precise with buoyancy and treat the overhead sections conservatively.

Freedive

Not a freedive target; the depth and overhead terrain make this a scuba-only drift.

Snorkel

Not a snorkel site for the main line; the interesting structure sits too deep for a useful surface pass.
