Baixa da Maia
Baixa da Maia (Maia Reef) is a small islet located less than 500 metres offshore, in front of the village of Maia. The surrounding area within about a 150-metre radius is designated as a marine reserve where fishing is prohibited. The site is known for schooling pelagic fish, including large schools of yellowmouth barracuda, almaco jacks, and white trevallies.
