The Wall is a south-coast Sao Miguel wall dive near Vila Franca do Campo, with a short boat run and a shallow top that keeps the profile compact. The route drops across rock and sand with black coral on the wall and steady fish traffic in the blue water. Morays, octopus, rays, trevallies, jacks, barracudas, and other Azores reef life are common sights. It is best dived when current and swell are modest, with buoyancy control more important than chasing depth.
