The Avocet is a 75 m (250 ft) dredge that was intentionally sunk as an artificial reef in 1991. The wreck’s upper structure has been damaged by hurricanes, with sections torn off and scattered. It lies offshore near the edge of deeper water, a location that can attract larger pelagic species such as wahoo, dolphin, and tuna.
