Bayahibe is the Dominican Republic's most rounded south-coast scuba base because it gives you access to more than 20 official local dive sites and lets you stack easy reefs, shallow wrecks, deeper advanced dives, and cave add-ons without long relocations. Operators such as Pro Dive International and Coral Point run regular local trips from the Bayahibe and Dominicus corridor, and PADI highlights the area as one of the country's best and easiest dive regions. Expect warm water around 25°C to 30°C, common visibility of 20 m to 30 m, mostly light current on protected reefs, and a genuine step-up path from beginner sites to deep wreck profiles.

- December to May is the easiest overall booking window for calm seas and dry weather.
- Ask in advance about nitrox, DIN adapters, torches, and whether marine park fees are bundled into day trips.
- Book St George early in the trip so weather or depth fatigue does not force you to miss it.
