Dive safety

Use an SMB, respect NDLs, and stay with your guide on drift sections. Seas can build in the afternoon. Night dives are guided. Always log on and off with boat crew.

Emergency care is available at Cairns Hospital in the city. The nearest recompression chamber is at Townsville University Hospital to the south. Evacuations are coordinated by operators and emergency services.
