Gorgonian walls in Scilla, sunlit reefs at Capo Vaticano, and cliff towns between dives

Most Tropea and Capo Vaticano itineraries begin at Lamezia Terme International Airport (SUF). Scilla is closer to Reggio Calabria Airport (REG), although flight choice may make SUF more practical for the full three-stop route. A strong open-jaw plan arrives at SUF, works south through Tropea and Ricadi, continues to Scilla, then departs from REG, or reverses the sequence. Regional rail serves Tropea, Ricadi-area stations and Scilla, but a rental car is more efficient for dive gear, early tide slots, coves and inland days. Trenitalia's Lamezia Airlink joins Lamezia Terme Centrale to the airport by bus on a combined ticket. Travelers adding Sicily can cross from Villa San Giovanni to Messina by frequent ferry, but that is an extension rather than the core dive format.
A rental car is the most practical choice for a three-base dive itinerary, especially with cylinders or personal gear, early departures and beach coves. Use regional trains for town-to-town movement between Tropea, Ricadi-area stations, Scilla and Reggio Calabria when traveling light.
