What It Feels Like

Carriacou suits divers who want real site variety without a big-resort feel. From Tyrrel Bay and nearby Hillsborough, operators such as Dive Carriacou and Deefer Diving run short-boat trips to more than 30 sites, including reefs, walls, drift channels, and wrecks. Around 15 of those sites sit inside the Sandy Island Oyster Bed Marine Protected Area, and the island's headline draw, Sisters Rocks, has been promoted locally as world-class. Conditions are often gentle on the leeward side, but the best diving still rewards divers who listen to briefings and match sites to skill.

Signature Sites

Start Here

  • Cistern Point

A flowing wall and drift site where the current does the work and reef life stays busy all the way down the edge.

Advanced

  • Sisters Rocks

Carriacou's bestknown advanced site, with dramatic structure, bluewater exposure, and the sort of pelagic possibility that makes guides talk about it first.

  • Westsider Wreck

A purposesunk tug with the keel around {{ 28 | distance:m }} and the superstructure shallower, making it a strong choice for experienced wreckfocused divers.

  • Boris Wreck

An easier wreck pairing with coral growth, schooling fish, and enough structure to keep both photographers and newer wreck divers interested.

Planning Playbook

Operator Checklist

  • Book morning departures first if you want the widest site choice. Ask operators which departures leave from Tyrrel Bay versus Hillsborough, and whether your chosen site attracts the small SIOBMPA surcharge. If you are arriving by yacht, both major dive centers advertise pickup service. Carriacou is not the place to wing transport with heavy camera kits, so lock in flights, ferries, and accommodation before you arrive.
