Palinuro Sub and the long-established Diving Center Marina di Camerota anchor a land-based, small-boat scene that is unusually rich in caverns and caves. Around Capo Palinuro, divers can move from the luminous entrances of Grotta Azzurra to the mixed wall-and-arch terrain of Il Cratere, deeper gorgonian scenery at Punta Quaglia, and specialist overhead routes such as La Cattedrale. East of Marina di Camerota, an authorized center can lead dives inside the Costa degli Infreschi e della Masseta Marine Protected Area, including approved shoals, walls, and selected caves. This variety serves Open Water divers, photographers, advanced recreational teams, and properly trained cave divers, but the named site alone never defines the required level. Route, sea state, depth, overhead exposure, and the current park authorization do.
