Scuba

What It Feels Like

Coral Coast scuba is resort-based, intimate, and local. Diveaway Fiji operates from the Warwick and Hideaway area, with Tagaqe sites close enough for relaxed two-tank mornings and surface intervals back at the resort. The mix ranges from beginner-friendly Stingray and Ras Bula to swimthroughs at The Maze, current-fed action at Fanny Hill, and the shallow Tatsu 2 Wreck.

Signature Sites

Start Here

  • The Maze

Midra Passage bommies, tunnels, and a chimneystyle route rising from about {{ 18 | distance:m }} to {{ 7 | distance:m }} make this a Coral Coast signature for confident divers.

  • Gunbarrel

An energetic channel dive where divers move through a narrow underwater gorge with snapper, surgeonfish, whitetip sharks, grey reef sharks, and a calmer coralgarden finish.

  • Ras Bula

A Maui Bay ridge dive with hard coral, eagle rays, scorpionfish, and simple profiles that pair well with mixedskill groups.

Advanced

  • Fanny Hill

Current pushes around deep ridges with gorgonian fans, barracuda, turtles, grey reef sharks, and occasional silvertip shark sightings.

  • Tatsu 2 Wreck

A shallow Japanese cargo wreck near Yanuca, now an artificial reef with schooling fish, nudibranchs, macro subjects, and soft coral growth.

Planning Playbook

Operator Checklist

  • Book early in May to October and during Australia and New Zealand school holidays. Ask whether your resort uses Diveaway Fiji or another local operator, confirm pickup points, and tell the shop if you need tanks, weights, computers, or a refresher. Local websites differ on weekly operating days, so confirm the exact schedule before building a tight itinerary. Add Pacific Harbour or Beqa Lagoon for shark diving, but it is a longer road-and-boat day from most Coral Coast resorts.
