Biarritz Pays Basque Airport is the simplest French-side gateway and the official airport page places Saint-Jean-de-Luz about 20 minutes away by road. TXIK TXAK and regional coaches connect the airport area with the coast, although a transfer can require timetable coordination. San Sebastian Airport at Hondarribia is geographically closest to Hendaye but has a smaller route network and a border crossing. Bilbao and Bordeaux provide broader fallback networks, followed by intercity rail, coach, or rental car.
TGV and regional trains serve Saint-Jean-de-Luz-Ciboure and Hendaye. Hendaye also connects to Euskotren's cross-border Topo toward San Sebastian. A rail-based itinerary is realistic when lodging and dive centers are near the stations or harbors; a car improves access to dispersed nature sites and inland stops but is not essential for the core two-town plan.
Saint-Jean-de-Luz-Ciboure and Hendaye have mainline rail stations, and local TXIK TXAK buses link coastal towns. Euskotren's E2 Topo continues from Hendaye toward Irun and San Sebastian, with tickets bought through the operator and no long-distance-style reservation.
