Confirm these fees before you book so your operator plan and day budget match what you will pay onsite.
Madeira has three common small but important budget items: a municipal tourist tax in places like Funchal, paid access for classified walking routes, and a per-dive fee for certain buoyed sites in marine protected areas (handled through SIMplifica). Confirm what your hotel and dive operator collect on your behalf so you do not pay twice.
