When to go
Plan the broadest mixed trip from May through October, with June through September offering the easiest overlap of milder air, longer daylight, warmer water, and more dependable local activity.
Best overall window
Longest useful days, broadest activity, and water commonly rising from about 14°C toward 18°C; tidal constraints remain unchanged.
Outside that window
Cold water near the annual minimum, short days, and a higher chance of rough or windexposed departures; topside museums remain the reliable core.
