Split Airport (SPU) is the primary gateway. It sits on the Kastela coast close to Trogir, with road transfers east to Split and Makarska and ferry connections from Split port to Solta and Brac. Travelers focused on Trogir or Ciovo can go directly from the airport without entering central Split. Brac Airport (BWK), near Bol, has a limited and seasonal schedule that can shorten an island-only trip, but it should be treated as a specialist option rather than the default international gateway. For Brac, the year-round Split-Supetar car ferry is the most resilient route. For Solta, use Split-Rogac. The Sumartin-Makarska car ferry creates a useful east-island loop, but frequency varies by season and weather.
Split and Trogir historic cores are walkable, and public buses connect the airport, Kastela, Trogir, Split and much of the mainland coast. A car is most useful for dispersed Ciovo accommodation, Brac's interior, the Makarska Riviera and Biokovo, but parking is difficult in historic centers and peak-season traffic can be severe.
