The signature scuba experience is WWF's guided Miramare Castle Reef program from Grignano, a deliberately shallow conservation dive rather than a free-access reef. The official route reaches no more than 9 m, can run by day or night, and is reserved for certified divers in tightly controlled groups.
The wider coast adds local shore and short-boat options. Punta Sottile combines an easy profile with Roman pier remains, while Sistiana Bay is the practical training and macro hub. Expect temperate water, silty sections, variable visibility, and rewarding small life rather than coral walls or reliable large animals.
