When to go

Best time to visit Tulagi and Florida Islands

Tulagi and the Florida Islands are warm and diveable yearround, but the easiest allaround planning window is the drier May to October season.

Best overall window

May to October, with April and November as useful shoulder months

Drier and more comfortable weather, warm water around 28°C to 30°C, and generally easier touring, with southeast tradewind chop possible on exposed boat legs.

Outside that window

Wet northwest monsoon period, hotter humidity, heavier showers, and higher chance of delayed boats, reduced nearshore visibility, or altered routes.

Choose your trip style

Start with the overall answer, then switch only when scuba, freedive, snorkel, or topside timing changes the trip in a meaningful way.

Always true for this destination
  • Surface chop can add a little more texture on exposed entries.
  • Visibility can swing more from day to day.
  • Sun exposure stays high even when conditions are easy.
Seasonal cautions
  • May to Oct: Southeast trades are normal in the dry season and can make exposed afternoon crossings bumpy.
  • Dec to Mar: The wet season brings heavier rain, humidity, and occasional tropical weather disruption.
