Scuba
What It Feels Like
Union Island is the operational base for Southern Grenadines scuba, and Tobago Cays is the headline marine playground. Local operators such as Grenadines Dive run everything from easy training dives on Union reefs to drift dives at Mayreau Gardens, shallow wreck dives on Puruni, and weather-dependent advanced runs to Sail Rock. The mix is unusually broad for a compact area: calm resort-course water, beginner-friendly reef dives, warm night dives, and outer-reef ledges with stronger current and more exposure. The biggest planning note is that Tobago Cays Marine Park requires divers inside the park to be accompanied by staff from a registered local dive operator or shop, so this is a guided-boat destination rather than a DIY one.
Signature Sites
Start Here
A classic drift along coral gardens and sponges, often highlighted by local operators and SVG tourism for crinoids, garden eels, and vivid reef life.
Advanced
A British gunship sunk in 1918 and resting in about {{ 40 | distance:ft }}, making it one of the region's most approachable historical wreck dives.
The signature reef system of Tobago Cays, with protected inner water for easier profiles and outer sections that feel bigger, deeper, and more exposed.
A weatherdependent advanced site with stronger current, cave features, and a more adventurous feel than the park's protected reef dives.

- If you want wreck plus turtle snorkeling in the same itinerary, combine Union or Mayreau diving with a separate Tobago Cays day.
- Night-diving fans should specifically request Round About Reef or Clipper's Point.
- Carry your own computer, SMB, and save-a-dive kit. Retail backup on Union is limited compared with larger Caribbean islands.
