The Marietta Dal was a 7,500-ton liberty ship built in the USA in 1944. It ran aground on Smith Rock on 15 May 1950 while carrying a mixed cargo including sulphur, oil and tractors. The wreck is now completely broken up, with scattered remains lying between about 10 m and 18 m, offering a compelling shipwreck dive.
