About Tyee Cove

Tyee Cove is a Nanoose shore dive at Blueback Community Park with two wall routes and a shallow training bowl. The entry starts with a short rocky walk, but the park setup makes it practical: parking, washrooms, a change room, and picnic benches are all close to the beach. Once in the water, the left wall gives a longer run while the right wall stays shallower and richer in shelves, cracks, and critter habitat. It is a classic cold-water Vancouver Island site for training dives, wolf eels, octopus, and schools of fish.

Local Intel For Tyee Cove

Community notes to help plan your visit.

Scuba

A classic shore wall dive with an easier entry at higher tide and two distinct lines to explore.

Freedive

Not a freedive-first site. The walls and rocky entry make it more of a scuba site, though the shallow bowl can be comfortable in calm conditions.

Snorkel

The shallow bowl may be calm enough for a look, but the walls and cold-water setup make scuba the better fit.
