Roca Peligrosa, Danger Rock
This offshore pinnacle sits a few kilometers south of the Catalina Islands, with both shallow and deeper sections. The typical route is to circle the rock that breaks the surface. It’s considered better as an additional dive for divers who are already comfortable in the water, rather than a first open-water dive for basic-level divers.
Depth note
The site is described as having both shallow and deeper parts, but no depths are specified.
Hazards
Safety notes
Not recommended as a first open-water dive for basic divers; better suited as an extra dive when the diver is comfortable.
Tailored notes for different activities.
Scuba
A common plan is to dive around the rock and explore both the shallower and deeper areas.
