Papa Whisky is a boat-access ocean amphitheatre off Faa'a, built from a collapsed underwater plateau into a broad reef wall with north and south exploration lines. Yellow gorgonians, violet coral patches, damselfish, and other reef life make it a strong advanced scuba dive when the current and boat timing are right on settled seas.

Hazards, restrictions, and access requirements.
Key Hazards
Safety Notes
Use the guide's side choice, stay within the planned depth band, and avoid pushing the site when the current is running hard.
Access Restrictions
Boat access only; best organized through a local operator who can time the current and choose the route.
Legal Notes
Treat the coral walls and amphitheatre structure as no-touch reef terrain.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
Best as a guided boat dive for experienced divers who are comfortable with depth and can hold a calm, measured pace.
Freediving
Not a primary freedive target; the interesting amphitheatre and wall work sit too deep for casual breath-hold diving.
Snorkeling
Not a snorkel site.
