MV Shakem, wreck
About MV Shakem, wreck
A 200 ft (70 m) cargo vessel built in 1965 that sank in 2001 after being overloaded with cement. The wreck rests in about 31 m (105 ft) of water and offers multiple penetration routes for appropriately trained divers. Concrete pallets provide shelter for small marine life, and baitfish near the mast draw in larger predators. The stern has heavy coral growth that supports a variety of critters.
