Caprara grotto dive in the Tremiti park.
Caprara grotto dive in the Tremiti park.
The park map marks Il Grottone as a buoyed site reserved to diving centers.
Il Grottone is the Caprara grotto dive in the Tremiti park, built around a big sheltered chamber, a wall-and-canyon return, and a buoyed route that keeps the dive organized from entry to exit. It is a park-style boat dive that feels richest when you stay calm, trim well, and let the cave geometry and rockfall shape the experience.

Site Conditions
Safety Notes
Keep buoyancy tight in the chamber and canyon, stay disciplined on route and gas, and avoid forcing the dive if the team is not comfortable in the overhead sections.
Access Restrictions
Zone B dive spot reserved to diving centers; boat access and buoyed routing are the normal pattern.
Legal Notes
Park-managed site; confirm current Zone B access and booking rules with the operator before departure.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
Good for certified divers with steady buoyancy and comfort in cave structure. Treat it as a guided park boat dive rather than a casual swim-through.
Freediving
Not a casual freedive target because the main route sits in a grotto and along deeper park terrain.
Snorkeling
Snorkeling is limited to the calmest edges; the grotto itself is a scuba-first site.
