About Shimamawari

Shimamawari is an offshore Kushimoto pinnacle with steep drop-offs, a shallow crown, and a small west-side cave. The top is covered with corals and anemones, while the slopes pull in migrating fish when tide and current line up. It suits divers who are comfortable with current and depth changes rather than flat-reef cruising. Winter can bring stingrays and basking sharks, and hawksbill turtles are possible year-round.
